I have been a member of the WI for a number of years firstly at Stowe by Chartley before moving to Leigh and District WI. At Leigh I have been an active member of the committee and taken the post of Secretary. I am also now a member at Sandon.
I joined WI firstly as my Mum had been a member and also to be a part of an organisation that not only is community focused but through the resolution process looks to bring about change in particularly for Women. Over the years I have made great friends and had fun along the way.
Having been a member of the Events Committee for a number of years assisting in some great events held at the County Showground I have now decided to become a Trustee.
Alongside WI and working full time, I volunteer for the National Trust and help with fundraising in my local community. Alongside this I enjoy gardening and running “Rachel’s Tours” where a number of my WI friends and I embark on day trips.
WI has given fun and friendship.
