Next year marks the centenary of the first Staffordshire Federation’s mandated Resolution. It was about increasing numbers of women police officers.
Please make time to think about how your WI can mark the occasion and celebrate our wonderful achievements, through the resolutions process.

KARENS CAMPAIGN CORNER (11)
May 2020
Today is the 1st anniversary of Max & Keira’s Law which gives presumed consent for organ donation unless ‘opted out’.
This concept was a WI Resolution in 1994 and in 2014, Staffordshire’s Standon & Cotes Heath WI’s Resolution called for everyone to make their wishes known about organ donation and to encourage others to do so, too.

United Nations Global Road Safety Week 17 – 23 MAYThe WI has been involved in improving road safety since 1922 when the Resolution called on Government to make all omnibuses and lorries to have guards fitted to prevent people and animals slipping under the wheels.

EARTH DAY – 22ND APRIL

Earth Day started in the US & Canada in 1970 and is now celebrated world-wide. It aims to promote the protection of the environment and raise awareness of the fragility of our planet. Many of our Resolutions support this concept.
If we can all reduce our impact on our world by a small amount, the overall result will be huge.

SOS – HONEYBEES
Honeybees may struggle at this time of year with cool conditions and few flowers around. If you see an exhausted bee, mix 2 tablespoonfuls of granulated sugar with one of water and leave in a saucer near the bee. For the long term, sow some wild flower seeds now. They will appreciate them later in the year and so will you ! You could even win the Garden Festival Trophy competition with a photo of your wild flowers….

Women Against Violence
Did you know there is an International Sign for HELP ! If you see some one using it, phone the Police. Pass it on !!
