FUNCTION;
To raise the profile of the WI and to encourage Visitors/new members through
informative, engaging, concise and timely reports on Meetings, events and trips
through local press and, where applicable, the SFWI News Bulletin, WI web-page and
social media such as Facebook.
Reports to WI Life can be considered when there are special events or when specific
feature items are requested.
SCOPE;
All Meetings, events and trips organised by the WI.
CONTENT;
Facebook should be 2 or 3 lines only. Other reports should be around 250 words,
submitted electronically and contain
An eye-catching headline that is short and to the point
Clear reference to the WI
When the Meeting/event /trip took place
Interesting but concise details
At least one photograph attached
Time & Date & Place of the next meeting & Speaker’s name and topic
Where further information can be obtained
POINTS TO NOTE ;
If members are featured on any photographs, their consent must be obtained prior to
submission to the Press. However, photos taken from Facebook pages are appropriate.
A photograph of people should have at least 2, preferably 3 clearly in shot.
