I live in Alrewas, Staffordshire and am a member Shenstone Evening WI and Rolleston on Dove WI. My working life was in health workforce education and public service management.
I feel passionate about empowering women and have worked with several city councils to bring positivity to women’s roles both within their domestic situations and within the workplace.
Like so many others I joined the WI to make friends, meet my neighbours and to be part of an organisation that furthers women as individuals and as groups within society. I love the diversity and equality of the WI, its tolerance and friendship. I’m proud to be member of the largest women’s organisation in the country.
I was a WI President for 8 years, and a member of the Federation County Show Sub Committee from 2014. I joined the Federation Board Of Trustees in 2014 and was elected Federation Chairman in 2016 and served in that role until 2023. I am a member of the Members Support Committee, supporting members and Institutes across the Federation to allow them to engage fully with all that the WI has to offer and support them along their WI journey.
My interests are many from differing types of craft to community engagement, campaigning and gardening.
