Communications and Media

Chair – Ros Langford

a)      Connecting with members old and new; – reaching out to future members and helping the Federation and its sub-committees promote the WI and what we do in Staffordshire.

b)      Working to achieve this primarily through 

(1)    the News Bulletin, web-site and social media

(2)    by informing the public at large how fabulous an organisation we are

(3)    by engaging people in our campaigns, our crafts and leisure activities. 

(4)   sharing good practice.

c)       Working to inspire, enthuse, educate and guide members to develop their digital 

        communication skills.

d)      Supporting all WIs in their development of marketing strategies;  creating websites and /  use of social media to promote communication and marketing

e)      Organise and facilitate  training days and workshops to further member’s knowledge and their understanding  of the use of digital resources including websites and social media. 

f)       Working with WI Advisers to offer support in the formation of new WIs and e.g. the setting-up of generic emails for every WI in the Federation. 

g)      Increase  awareness of and use of SFWI and NFWI training opportunities and resources, and develop a member’s only section of the website where resources can be accessed.
