I joined the Board of Trustees in March 2020, just weeks before the Coronavirus Lockdown.
Born and bred in Kent, I moved to Staffordshire in 1997 after a 3-year stint working in Jamaica whilst accompanying my husband, Nigel. Whilst there, I was secretary and later Chair of the Women’s Corona Society, Jamaica branch (now Corona Worldwide).
Nearing retirement, I was encouraged and inspired by a close friend and work colleague to join the WI, joining Tean WI in 2014. I was nominated for committee the following year and elected secretary, a role which I continues to enjoy.
I joined the Craft, Art and Design Committee in 2015 and took up the vacant Chair position in mid-2020. I am also a member of the County Show sub-committee, being actively involved with Staffordshire County Show.
Following three years on the Board of Trustees, I was elected Vice-Chairman in January 2023.
My main interests are in the crafting area – mainly knitting, papercraft, bookfolding, and needlecraft. I lead many of our craft workshops, most notably book folded hedgehogs, angels with all the glitter, and anything that involves getting high on decoupage glue. She also enjoys baking, gardening, floral art, walking and Family History research. I firmly believes that ‘Learning is for Life’ and I love to learn new skills and ideas and am excellent at sharing those skills with others.
