Trustee – Sue Roden

Please allow me to Introduce myself.

My name is Sue Roden I have been a member of the WI for a number of years. Firstly, as a member of Sandon WI and now I am the President of the newly re-formed Shanks Sisters WI in Armitage with Handsacre.

I was first introduced to the Womens Institute when I began to work at SFWI Federation office helping the SFWI Treasurer with the accounts. I must say that my time working with two Federation Treasurers, the latter being Beryl Podmore, was a truly happy time.

Before I became employed by SFWI I knew very little about the Womens Institute, but it wasn’t long before I was hooked. I soon realised that the WI isn’t all Jam and Jerusalem.

After retiring last year, and having more spare time I decided that I would like to become a Federation Trustee. In my role as a Trustee I hope that in some small way I can give something back to this great organisation.

In my spare time, as well as helping to run Shanks Sisters WI I love to walk my dog. I have recently taken up quilting, and have finally learnt to Crotchet.  I am also the Federation Resolutions Officer and a member of the County Show Committee and the Craft Art and Design Committee. I also love to go on car rallies with my husband in our old car.
